After serving four years in the United States coast guard and three years on the family farm, Rolla Parker started in the automobile business in 1978 in Watertown, New York as a salesperson. In 1982, Rolla moved to Middlebury, Vermont in 1982 to work as the general manager at a Chevrolet dealership, and in 1993 he purchased Parker Chevrolet in Champlain, New York. Rolla has a brother, Timothy, who is the general manager, a daughter Beth who is the parts manager at Parker Chevrolet, and a son Rolla IV who also works at the dealership. Rolla is currently in his twelfth year as a member of the Board of Directors for New York State Auto Dealers Association, representing five Northern New York counties. Rolla is also in his thirteenth year as a member of the Board of Trustees at Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, New York. Rolla has also has been on the fundraising committee for the local hospital foundation in Plattsburgh, New York for the past six years. Parker Chevrolet supports many local Clinton county nonprofits, local schools, and youth sporting teams throughout the year.
